    What to expect:

    Sixt is looking to hire this position to lead our legal team as we experience continuous growth in the U.S. This role will be responsible to ensure the company always operates within the law, offers counsel on legal issues related to all aspects of the business, acts as a legal guardian of the organization, and partners with the business to facilitate organizational growth and development. The successful candidate will be able to provide effective guidance for ensuring legal compliance, mitigate risk exposure, considering both financial and reputational business impacts.

    What you'll do to be Sixt-cessful:

    • Provides expert and strategic legal advice to senior management on all legal based matters across the business
    • Establishes and maintains internal governance policies related to legal compliance
    • Works to anticipate legal issues or potential risks to the business, estimates risks and makes appropriate strategic recommendations
    • Drafts concise agreements that minimize risks and sets effective legal rights
    • Keeps abreast of legislative changes and proactively makes recommendations for policy changes accordingly to protect the business
    • Establishes position and effectively negotiates with external parties where required on legal based business matters
    • Attracts, develops, directs, motivates and drives high performance across direct reports.

    What you'll need:

    • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
    • Member of a State Bar
    • Minimum 8 years professional legal experience
    • Generalist and broad legal knowledge in all relevant areas (e.g. corporate & labor law, litigation, etc.)
    • Has experience in supervising and recruiting lawyers and managing external parties (selection process, budget control, etc.)
    • Ability to develop legal strategy and set objectives in line with the business direction and needs
    • Financial acumen to understand the cost implications on the business
    • High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
    • Excellent judgement and analytical skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills in the English language
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
